Position: Accounting Advice Analyst - Financial Markets

Essential duties and responsibilities:

You will be part of the Accounting Advice unit which leads the development of IFRS accounting policy for Group reporting for financial instruments as well as the development of IFRS 9 accounting policy recommendations for local reporting.

In addition, the unit monitors the development of emerging and new IFRS accounting guidance, formulates and implements IFRS accounting policies, and provides accounting advice on financial instruments and transactions.


About the role


You will perform accounting analysis of transactions covering financial instruments including consolidation, equity method of accounting, impairment, hedging, and fair value accounting topics.

You will formulate IFRS accounting policies related to recognition, derecognition, classification, measurement and disclosure of financial instruments covering the above topics.

You will be involved in projects and evaluate new products where accounting opinions are required covering financial instruments.

In addition, you will monitor emerging IFRS accounting pronouncements and have the opportunity to train other teams on accounting topics related to financial instruments.

The above tasks are focused on IFRS, however there will be a need to complete the USGAAP cycle in the transition year 2023.


You will work closely with the Asset Management business experts, accountants and colleagues from associated workstreams to help address any business contract classification or policy interpretations.


You will be part of a team, where we have a collaborative environment which fosters exchange between teams and enables close interaction with the other teams responsible for implementation, financial reporting, data model and any other business areas and you will assist in the implementation of IFRS accounting guidance for the Group as well as affected legal entities and branches.


You will interact with many internal and external stakeholders, including Asset Management, Group Investment Reporting, Risk Management, Treasury, the Group CFO, Business Unit CFOs and their teams, the Chief Accounting Officer, Group Internal Audit, various consulting firms and the external auditors.

Other requirements:

You are passionate about accounting with a consistent track record of delivery
You have solid understanding of investment products
You are experienced in working in cross-functional and cross-organizational teams
You come with 3+ years' experience in Finance, Accounting, or comparable fields
You had worked with IFRS accounting guidance related to financial instruments, in particular IFRS 9
You have internationally recognised accounting qualification or partial qualification with a clear commitment to achieve full qualification within the next two years (e.g., CPA, ACCA, etc.)
You are taking personal accountability for required outcomes
You are an excellent communicator, with outstanding organizational skills and the ability to sustain a high level of work output and meet tight deadlines and prioritize
You have creative problem-solving skills and have a keen sense of pragmatism with good analytical skills
You are proficient in English - verbal and written communication

1700€ monthly

Salary:

The minimum gross monthly base salary for this role is 1700 EUR full time.
